Albini Wood Flooring strives to collect, use and disclose personal information in a manner consistent with the laws of the countries in which it does business, and has a strong reputation for maintaining the highest ethical standards in its business practices.

Albini Wood Flooring recognizes the importance of maintaining the privacy of personal information collected through websites that it operates. Albini Wood Flooring’s sole purpose for operating its websites is to provide information concerning products and services to the public. Users visiting Albini Wood Flooring website are free to browse without revealing any personal information. Visitors may also voluntarily provide personal information by filling out and submitting online questionnaires concerning feedback on the website, requesting information on products or services, or seeking employment. The information voluntarily provided by website users is limited to the user’s name, personal information and, where relevant, product installation details. A visitor’s statutory rights are not affected by online warranty and guarantee submissions to Albini Wood Flooring. Albini Wood Flooring does not sell or share this information with non-agent third parties.

Albini Wood Flooring may also collect anonymous information concerning website users through the use of ‘cookies’ in order to provide better customer service. Care and Maintenance

GENERAL CARE – ALL COATING TYPES

Flooring should be one of the last items installed in a project. In order to protect the floors while other trades are finishing their work prior to final cleanup and turnover to the owner, use a breathable protective covering such as Ram Board. Do not use Red Rosin paper, as it may discolor the finish, and do not use polyfilm or other non-breathing coverings as they can cause damage from humidity buildup. Clean the floor thoroughly before laying the covering to ensure that no debris is trapped underneath. Tape pieces of protective covering together but do not tape them to the wood flooring.
Place walk-off mats at all entrances to collect dirt and debris that could damage or dull the flooring finish. – Install felt floor protectors underneath all furniture.
Do not allow people to wear spiked heels on the floor, which will damage even the hardest wood floorsand finishes.
Pet claws should be properly trimmed at all times.
Work boots and shoes that may have pebbles lodged in the soles should be removed prior to entering. – Sweep or vacuum frequently. Most damage to wood floor finishes is caused by debris that is walked on. – All mats or rugs should be cleaned on a regular basis. They should also be moved occasionally to allow natural color changes caused by light to occur evenly in all areas.
Never wet-mop your floor, and always clean up spills and standing water as soon as possible. With oil-finished floors, water left for prolonged periods may cause water-spotting. With water or any other cleaning agent, be sure to thoroughly ring out the applicator or mop prior to applying it to the floor. A damp mop is fine as long as the moisture is limited to an amount that will evaporate almost immediately. Moisture that is allowed to seep into the seams between the planks may cause damage to your flooring. Do not allow soiled mats or rugs to stay on the floor as they can trap moisture on the surface.

DO’s

Immediately after installation and for regular cleaning, mop with WOCA Soap. These are concentrates that are mixed with water. They not only clean, but also help keep the floor nourished and better protected/sealed by leaving a thin layer of coconut and soy fats. Frequent cleaning with WOCA Soap (up to once weekly) will extend the time before re-oiling becomes necessary and will help prevent against staining and water-spotting. REMEMBER – FREQUENT USE OF WOCA SOAP IS THE MOST IMPORTANT KEY TO MAINTAINING THIS FLOOR.
When cleaning, use a cotton mop (not micro-fiber). Use a second rinse bucket of clean water to remove dirt from the mop before re-soaking it in the cleaning solution. Change the rinse bucket water frequently.
For more difficult stains, use WOCA Spot Remover. If a mop or rag does not remove the spot, try scrubbing gently with a 3M 4100 Super Polish White Pad.
Two to four times a year, depending on traffic, clean with WOCA Oil Refresher Natural.
Light scratches are best repaired by hand rubbing WOCA Master Floor Oil Natural, WOCA Master Floor Oil White, or a Woca Master Color Oil on the affected area using a cloth. If necessary, first clean the area to be repaired with WOCA Wood Cleaner. Be sure the area is dry before applying oil. Leave the oil to absorb for a short period of time before thoroughly buffing and removing the oil from the surrounding area.
Sweep or vacuum frequently. Oil finishes soak into the wood, protecting from within rather than forming a barrier above, so the natural wood texture is felt at the surface. Debris left on the floor can get ground into the grain by foot traffic and become more difficult to remove.

DON’T’s

Never use ammonia, vinegar, petroleum-based cleaners, wax, polish, household dust treatment chemicals, abrasive cleaners, scrubbing pads, furniture cleaners, or any other non-WOCA brand product to clean your oil-finished floor.
Avoid mopping the floor with just water. Always use WOCA Soap or Oil Refresher.
Avoid using a micro-fiber mop, which over time may gradually remove oil from the floor.
WOCA Wood Cleaner is not intended for regular cleaning. It is an aggressive cleaner that strips some of the oil from the floor. Other than using it for small repairs as described above, do not use WOCA Wood Cleaner unless you are preparing the floor for a new coat of oil.

COMMERCIAL SPACES

For commercial floors that require frequent cleaning, use WOCA Master Soap. The Master Soap is formulated to allow virtually daily cleaning without leaving behind residue, which may cause excessive buildup over time.
On commercial floors, apply WOCA Oil Refresher or WOCA Oil Refresher White three to four times a year.

Lifetime Structural Warranty

Albini Wood’s warranty commitment is to provide quality engineered hardwood flooring that is free from manufacturing defects in milling and lamination for the lifetime of the product.

Finish Warranties

Albini Wood products are covered under these finish warranties only when cleaned and maintained per the guidelines set forth for the coating type. For items finished with Oil and UV Oil finishes, that maintenance may require re-application of oil by a flooring professional during the period of this warranty, and the need for such re-application does not constitute a product failure. The frequency of the maintenance required maintaining a wood floor finished with Oil or UV Oil may vary significantly from one setting to the next depending on foot traffic. Floors finished with Oil or UV Oil used in a commercial setting may require frequent re-oiling. With Oil and UV-Oil finished floors, water and other liquids left for prolonged periods without being wiped up may cause spotting, which is normal and will not be considered a product defect. Gloss reduction is not considered wear through and is not covered under this warranty.

Residential Finish Warranty

Albini Wood warrants that, under normal residential conditions and with proper cleaning and maintenance as prescribed for the applicable coating type, the finish on Albini Wood’s flooring products will not wear through to raw wood in any single area for 10 years from the date of purchase, will not wear through to raw wood over an area consisting of 10{e0b0df8cd6e42e13000ce7974cc5c1a330e8a110305ca72864aa021a06668e43} or more of the total installed area for a period of 15 years from the date of purchase, and will not wear through to raw wood over an area consisting of 20{e0b0df8cd6e42e13000ce7974cc5c1a330e8a110305ca72864aa021a06668e43} or more of the total installed area for a period of 25 years from the date of purchase.

Light Commercial Warranty

Albini Wood further warrants that, under normal Light Commercial conditions and with proper maintenance as prescribed for the applicable coating type, the finish on Albini Wood’s flooring products will not wear through to raw wood in any single area for 3 years from the date of purchase. Light Commercial areas are defined as public or commercial spaces with light to moderate traffic and infrequent liquid spills, and do not include food preparation, food service or public dining areas, areas where people form lines such as in front of cash registers, areas where furniture is frequently moved such as auditoriums, or high traffic areas such as classrooms and near elevator doors.

These warranties are given only to the original retail purchaser of the flooring. No warranties are transferable. Albini Wood reserves the right to verify and inspect any and all warranty claims. Warranty claims may be investigated and inspected by company personnel and/or NWFA Certified Hardwood Flooring Inspectors at our option. Some defect claims may require the removal of samples for analysis. Responsibility for replacement costs of materials will be determined after cause and analysis is made. Albini Wood will repair and/or replace any material deemed defective at our option. Albini Wood will directly reimburse the original purchaser. In the event that the defective flooring is unable to be repaired in a reasonable number of attempts, Albini Wood will reimburse the original purchaser the purchase price of the flooring for the defective portion of the floor.

Customer Responsibilities:

Customer must retain the original sales receipt.
Customer must follow the Albini Wood Installation, Care & Maintenance Instructions applicable to the product installed (hereafter referred to as ‘Installation Instructions’).
Customer must follow proper maintenance and floor care procedures, using proper maintenance and cleaning products as prescribed for the applicable coating type. See the Installation Instructions to identify the correct coating and cleaning/maintenance regimen. If there is any doubt about the coating type, Customer must contact Albini Wood for confirmation before any cleaning or maintenance is performed.
Hardwood flooring is a natural product. Wood expands and contracts according to humidity and moisture conditions. It is very important that engineered wood flooring be thoroughly acclimated to a controlled environment before it is installed.

Installer Responsibilities:

Carefully follow the Installation Instructions.
Verify that the flooring has been properly acclimated.
Verify that installation and/or site conditions are adequate for the installation in accordance with the Installation Instructions and ensure that humidity and temperature conditions are maintained during acclimation and installation.
Verify that the subfloor is clean, dry, flat, and structurally sound per the requirements listed in the Installation Instructions.
Check the flooring for manufacturing defects and/or visible damage. Verify prior to installation that any hardwood flooring that will be installed has been manufactured within acceptable tolerances and is visually satisfactory to the end-user. When in doubt, do not install.

Warranty Disclaimers – Things not covered by Albini Wood’s Warranty:

Wood flooring installed in full bathrooms with a shower or tub
Damage caused by fire, flooding and other natural disasters and/or Acts of God
Damage caused by negligence, accidents, misuse or abuse
Damage caused by vacuum cleaner beater bar or hard heads
Damage caused by appliances, furniture, and casters
Damage caused by cutting from sharp objects
Damage to the coating caused by tape or other adhesive products
Reduction in gloss, scratches, or indentation due to sand, pebbles or other abrasives, debris, pets, insects, construction traffic, or failure to maintain the floor as required
Color, shade, or texture variations between samples, printed color photography or replacement flooring and original flooring material
Changes in color due to exposure to air, sunlight and age
Noises (squeaks, etc.) associated with anything other than the mis-manufacture of the flooring
Naturally occurring wood characteristics such as variation in grain, mineral streaks, and knots – Deficiencies related to subfloor/floor joist assemblies, subfloor preparation materials and fasteners including but not limited to uneven subfloor surfaces, floor deflection, voids in the subfloor, or excessive moisture in the subfloor
Natural expansion and contraction resulting in separation between boards or damage caused by excessive high or low humidity
Minor cracks or separations between the flooring boards caused by expansion and contraction due to seasonal changes
Cupping or crowning in the flooring boards due to excessive subfloor moisture or low humidity – Products designated as “thrift,” “clearance,” “tavern,” “bargain,” “cabin grade,” “economy grade,” “blowout,” “close-out,” “off-goods,” “non-standard,” and/or products sold “As-Is” – Construction or installation-related damage
Floors damaged or adhesive breakdown caused by subfloor moisture or water damage, including without limitation to broken or leaking water pipes, flooding, wet mopping spills or weather conditions
Installation defects including installations made in violation of applicable state or local housing or building codes, or contrary to the Installation Instructions

Color Disclaimer:

There are color and pattern variations in all wood. This is characteristic of a living tree. All wood will go through natural color changes from the effects of oxidation and ultraviolet light. In some species such as American Cherry, Walnut, Thermo-treated Oak and some exotics this color change is more pronounced. This is not a product defect and is not covered by the warranty.

Radiant Heat:

When the Installation Instructions are followed Albini Wood Engineered Flooring having a top layer made of a species from the list of warranted species and of an appropriate plank size as outlined in the ‘Radiant Heat Systems’ section of the Installation Instructions is fully warranted over radiant heat. The warranty will be void if any of the requirements in the ‘Radiant Heat Systems’ section of the Installation Instructions are not fully met. NOTE: in wood flooring installations over radiant heat, moderate surface checking, cracking (especially at the ends of boards and around knots), shrinkage, gapping between planks, and slight cupping are all to be expected and do not constitute a product defect.

Warranty Exclusions:

It is the responsibility of the installer to inspect the flooring for manufacturing defects and/or visible damage prior to installation. Albini Wood accepts no responsibility for liabilities, claims, or expenses, including labor costs, where flooring with visible defects has been installed. No retailers, distributors or employees have the authority to alter the obligations, limitations, or exclusions under any of the Albini Wood warranties. Albini Wood excludes and will not be liable for or pay incidental, consequential or special damages under any warranties. This means any loss, expense, or damage other than to the flooring itself that may result from a defect in the flooring. These limited warranties constitute the only express warranties for the product purchased. To the extent permitted by law and for all non-consumer products, all warranties other than Albini Wood limited warranties express or implied, including any warranty merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are disclaimed. If any implied warranty arises under state law, any and all implied warranties (including any warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) are limited in duration to the duration of this written warranty, to the extent allowed by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion or limitations of incidental or consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply. These warranties give the customer specific legal rights, and the customer may also have other rights that vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

Albini Wood wants every customer to be happy and satisfied with his or her purchase. If there are claims or questions, or in the event that you are not totally satisfied with your hardwood floor, contact your local retailer first. Additional Notes:

Albini Wood Flooring Inc. considers flooring that has been installed as that which has been accepted as ordered. Prior to the installation, the homeowner, dealer, or installer, has the responsibility to inspect the product to ensure proper specie, color, grade, integrity of structure, and finish. The installer must use reasonable selectivity and hold out or cut off pieces with defects, whatever the cause. No credit will be given for boards that have been installed with visible signs of defects or variances.

This warranty does not cover damages caused by or relating to improper transportation, storage, or installation of the Flooring. This warranty does not cover any defects unless the square footage of such defective flooring exceeds ten percent (10{e0b0df8cd6e42e13000ce7974cc5c1a330e8a110305ca72864aa021a06668e43}) of the total square footage of your purchased Flooring.

This warranty does not cover manufacturing defects in Flooring that has been installed which are visible or which reasonably could have been discovered by you or your installer prior to installation. You must notify Albini Wood Flooring Inc. of any such manufacturing defects before installing Flooring. If not properly notified, Albini Wood Flooring Inc. shall not be held liable for any costs or expenses incurred as a result of the purchase or installation of any such defective or unsatisfactory Flooring.

Due to the natural materials and unique finishing processes, Albini Wood Flooring Inc. wood products may experience tonal and color variation between planks depending on time in or out of the box and conditions such as weather, temperature, location, moisture levels or proper maintenance and installation. To avoid dramatic variation mainly caused by aging, it is recommended installation be completed from the same lot.
